The Band

Formed in Geraldton in late 2003, IndySystem is one of WA's most promising new talents'.   While performing a series of local shows over the past couple of years, the band has built up a solid fan base in regional WA, and is now looking to extend their audience throughout Australia.

IndySystems  powerful sound combined with soul gripping melodies bring listeners to a new place.  Singer/guitarist Ash Friesen range of vocals combined with grinding riffs sets the tone for a sound bounding with energy.  Complimenting bass lines from bassist Roger Hunt and creative beats from drummer Stu Gray bring forth a truly massive sound.  Drawing from a wide range of influences, the 3 piece outfit combine to create a modern and dynamic sound.

The Music

IndySystems sound has could be classified as evolved grunge. With older influences such as Nirvana and Alice in Chains combined with slightly more modern sounds of bands such as Filter, Tool and Staind (drummer Stu would argue 80’s metal bands as his biggest influence), their music tends to be energetic and emotionally charged hard rock. 

To this point, IndySystem have spent several hours in the recording studio successfully recording 4 of their electric tracks, plus an acoustic number.  The band has since took a bit of time off, but hopes to complete a full length album in the coming months.  We’ve made some of these recently recorded tracks freely available to download from the Triple J website.

News

Due to family commitments, the band has been on somewhat of a hiatus over the past couple of months. As a result, the gigs have been less frequent then in the past. However, keep an eye out in the coming months, as they will be hitting the scene again soon. 

The band is also looking at completing the album they began recording late last year, which is half done to this point.
